Using PayOS
PayOS provides payment orchestration, hosted checkout, transaction, callback, refund, payout, and reconciliation tools for approved merchants. You must provide accurate information, protect credentials, and use the service only for lawful business.
Payments and processors
A payment is not final merely because a browser returns to a success page. Merchants must rely on verified PayOS status. Banks and processors apply their own terms and may decline, delay, reverse, or investigate transactions.
Fees, refunds and disputes
Applicable fees and settlement arrangements are disclosed during onboarding or in a separate agreement. Merchants are responsible for their customer-facing refund policy, lawful refund decisions, chargebacks, taxes, and records.
Availability and liability
We maintain reasonable safeguards but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. Liability is limited only to the extent permitted by South African law; rights that cannot lawfully be excluded remain unaffected.
